Team B is the favourite so the odds are lower — a ৳1,000 bet yields only ৳800 profit. In the American format, a minus sign indicates the favourite.
Three things to remember
- In decimal format, odds are never below 1; 2.00 means you get double your stake back (100% profit).
- In fractional format, 5/4 means ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked — add the stake back and the total return is ৳9.
- In American format, plus (+) means underdog and minus (−) means favourite — the larger the minus number, the stronger the favourite.
- All three formats convey the same information — only the way they are written differs.
